#WHO-WE-B(C)+D.A.W.G.s+L.U.C.K.=PREVAIL

ELI KUENZER

8TH #63 OL/DL

Eli had a great season and earned Player of the Week for his efforts, especially in the last game of the season against Boyne City. Eli embodies the D.A.W.G.s. mentality, and we are excited about his future prospects as a Husky!

WEEK #8

PARKER "P-DUB" PRITCHETT

Sophomore #57 OL/LB

Parker represents all that is good, right and true within the Benzie Central Football program; he's a sophomore playing beyond himself and setting the bar for all others. Mr. Pritchett played like a senior in an effort to help his senior teammates as he continually excelled at this offensive tackle position and roamed sideline-to-sideline at his Mike Linebacker position. He tallied 5 pancake blocks, 8 solo tackles and 6 assisted tackles. P-Dub will lead his teammates in week-long preparations for a week 9 Homecoming battle with Cheboygan that, believe it or not, still holds playoff qualification implications. The P stands for Parker, Pritchett, and Prevail.

KAIDEN KANARY

#40 WR/CB

Kaiden made several key catches and scored a touchdown in our victory against Kalkaska last week. His outstanding defense was crucial to the Huskies' win. Kaiden and the Pack travel to Boyne City next week for the final game of a successful season.

WEEK #7

AIDAN “Erf” ERFOURTH

Senior #50 OL/DL

Aidan led the way through an evening filled with adversity. He stayed calm and cool and let his play do the talking. Erf had a number of pancake blocks as an offensive tackle and a number of solo tackles as defensive tackle. Aidan looks to continue his solid senior year on the big stage at Thirlby Field this Saturday afternoon.

KEAN NOVOGRADIC

7th-grade #12 HB/LB

Kean earned Player of the Week honors by helping pave the way for multiple touchdowns and played a crucial role in the team's shutout defense with several key tackles.

WEEK #6

"JUICY" JASON PELTIER

Junior #78 OL/DL

"Juicy J" made a great effort this past week. Usually a one-way player (Center), Jason played the entire game on both the offensive and defensive lines for the first time in his varsity career. The extra workload didn't affect his shotgun snaps (100%) while rarely getting pushed around at his defensive tackle spot. The DAWGs need his continued work ethic and passion for competing as they travel to Oscoda this Friday night.

WALKER DURGA

8th Grade #9 WR/CB

Fresh off of sickness, Walker steps in to play on both sides of the ball. He threw a huge block to open the path for our touch. Walker was tremendous on defense, invoiced in several running and passing plays.

WEEK #5

ADAM "AC" COYNE

Junior #52 OL/LB

AC kept things cool in a heated contest at Charlevoix this past Friday. The final score doesn't detail how close it was for nearly four quarters. Adam made key efforts on the offensive line and had a competitive sideline-to-sideline effort as a linebacker, racking up 6 tackles, one sack and numerous pressures. The last Coyne brother has a D.A.W.G. mentality and will look to lead the way during this upcoming Saturday's D.A.W.G. Day Game celebration.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

ISAAC ROOD

Sophomore #70 DT/T

Isaac Rood, in his first season playing football, stepped up and showed true GRIT this week. Isaac played his best game defensively, causing and recovering a fumble, and never gave up on any play.

Offensively, Isaac stepped in and played guard, replacing an injured teammate. He showed selflessness and a commitment to doing what the TEAM needed!

WESTON CONVERSE

8th Grade #75 OT/RB-DE

Weston's hard work paved the way for the Husky's TD success. Converse was solid on defense all day long. Weston's efforts and GRIT are vital to the team's success this season.

WEEK #4

ROWAN “ROW DAWG” ZICKERT

Junior #4 QB/DB

As Rowan and his teammates battled more than just an opponent Friday night (They played with heavy hearts for their injured teammates), the "Row Dawg" stepped up at the most critical moments. While leading the offense on multiple extended drives, he found the end zone via one pass and two (or three if you were at the game) runs. But none was bigger than his go-ahead touchdown because it followed his epic final-minute interception while playing defensive back. Z and his band of dawgs travel to Charlevoix this Friday for an NMFL Leaders division slugfest.

TRACE WENKEL

Freshman #1 WR/CB

Trace played a pivotal role last week on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Defensively, Trace got the job done, not losing containment and accounting for eight tackles, including two big solo tackles.

Offensively, Trace caught his first touchdown of the season in heavy traffic, and that outstanding play put us ahead. Trace and his teammates showed their True GRIT in this tough battle.

ARCHIE KATT

8th Grade #1 QB/S

Katt had an all-around great game, both rushing and throwing the ball. He also added an interception on Defense and a ton of return yardage on kick returns and punt returns.

Katt is definitely an exciting young player and one to watch!

WEEK #3

“GREAT DAYNE” GILLISON

Junior #8 RB/DB

Dayne led the way on defense with numerous pass break-ups and tackles while fielding some difficult punt returns.

On the offensive side of the ball, he made receptions on every market as a receiver and ran the ball with a purpose out of the backfield.

The Great Dayne will be a key cog in getting the Huskies back on the winning track this coming Friday at Tawas.

JOE ABEYTA

Sophomore #11 S/RB

Joe led the team in opponents ran over. From running back, he scored a touchdown and set the tone for the comeback victory with punishing runs.

Defensively, Joe caused a fumble, which was vital to shutting Mancelona out in the second half.

Joe showed the community and his teammates what it means to have GRIT and lead by leaving everything on the field.

WEEK #2

TYLER “TB-22” BROOKS

Senior #22 WB/DB

Tyler was rock solid as a defensive back, with numerous pass deflections, but his defensive play was only surpassed by his offensive red zone effectiveness: three receiving touchdowns! His last TD of the afternoon was a highlight reel pretzel delight that put the Huskies ahead for good. Tyler and his teammates look to continue to give the fans their money’s worth this Friday at Frankfort in the annual “Salute to Service” event.

HOLLIS BELL

Freshman #8 WR/RB

Hollis led the team defensively this week, with 18 tackles, several of which were for a loss. For the first time this season, Hollis ran the ball as a Running Back, helping to cap off the shutout victory against Lansing Eastern. Hollis encapsulates what it means to have GRIT and to play with contagious enthusiasm.

WEEK #1

GRAYSON CONVERSE

Senior #75 DL/PL

Grayson led the way on defense with a number of big hits on the Elk Rapids quarterback, but none was bigger than his sack in ER's end zone for a safety. The Big Dawg is committed to providing the necessary senior leadership and work ethic to earn a Big Dub in this Saturday's matchup against Lansing Eastern.

DALTON MOBLEY

Freshman #12 QB/LB

In his first game as a Husky, Dalton showed tremendous grit and leadership at quarterback, leading the team on offense. He was also one of the main contributors on defense, holding Elk Rapids scoreless in the final three quarters.
